It's 2020 and opportunities to make money online are opening up to more and more people. Set up an Instagram account and get to workOne of the ways to start selling feet pictures online is to do what many other have done - start an Instagram account. All you'll need to do is start taking photos of your feet in attractive poses and use the right hashtags. Of course, this is going to take a while to build up a fan base but it is worth it if you're looking to build a solid foundation of fans. 2. Set up an ONLYFANS accountOnlyfans is a subscription based social media that allows the creators to set up an account and charge people anywhere from $4.99 - $49.99 to see their social feed. It's an interesting model that attracts people who want to only give away exclusive content that they pay for by subscribing. Creators can also sell digital items on the website which means it would be a good place to sell your feet pictures online. You can browse their website to find people to subscribe to but it would be a better idea to build up an instagram account first and then redirect people to your Onlyfans account if they want to get exclusive images etc. 3. Set up an Instafeet accountBecause selling feet pictures on Instagram is so popular there is now a website with a similar name; Instafeet! This website is a lot like Onlyfans except it's obviously dedicated to giving people a platform to sell only feet pictures. However, it's similar to Onlyfans because followers have to subscribe which costs them money to view your feed and they have an options to buy custom and private foot pictures from you. Something to bear in mind is once you apply to join the network, you'll be reviewed by the admins as they are quite strict on who they let join. 4. Sell your feet pics on stock photo websitesAnother option and place to sell you pictures online is on stock photo websites. It's important to remember that you're not going to make the same amount of money every time someone buys a stock photo of yours but if you have a lot of photos of your feet uploaded to a stock photo website then you could earn a decent amount of money by selling a lot of them. Stock photo websites are great for selling your photos because websites always need images which means they are willing to pay money for really well presented images. Also bear in mind that each time you sell one, the stock photo website will take a cut of of the money. Here's a list of the best stock photo websites to upload your feet pictures to; istockphoto.com 123rf.com unsplash.com pexels.com depositphotos.com shutterstock.com How much should I charge for feet pictures?Once you've found a place to sell your feet pictures you're going to need to know how much you can sell feet pictures for. You can charge anywhere from $25, $50 or $100 dollars for your feet pictures online. If you sell your feet pictures on stock websites then you'll only make $1-5 per sale. It makes sense to sell your own feet pictures online using websites especially made for that purpose. Once you have regular customers you can get them to buy your feet pictures directly from you so you can cut out the middleman and make more money. You can do this by emailing your feet pictures to your customers and then collecting your money through Paypal. You can make a lot more money this way. If you're wondering how to monetize your photography Instagram account then I think you'll find this post interesting. Instagram is great place to display your photography because it lends itself to visual images really well. Photographers and artists can have an absolute field day when it comes to monetizing their accounts because the product is already on their timelines, You'd be surprised how much money people would pay for your photography. If you're like most people that post photography to Instagram then you're probably interested in growing your account but you might also have selling your work in the back of your mind but you're not quite sure how to do it. The truth is, selling your photography can be expensive to do because you often need to get your work printed in batches by professional printers before you've even sold any. This means your expenses are already very high and it can then be stressful having to chase sales just to even make your money back. Luckily, the internet has many many ways for you to monetize your Instagram photography and depending on what kind of photography you do, you could make money selling your photography sooner then you think. Selling your photography on Instagram - how does your account look?If your photography Instagram account already has a lot of engaged followers then you can probably skip this bit but I still think it's worth taking note of what I'm going to say here. Before getting into how to sell your photography on Instagram, you need to make sure that your account is in check. You don't necessarily need to have a huge following but you will need engaged fans on your page. That's why I advise your photography account to appeal to a certain kind of person so you can niche down even further into the various categories of photography. For example, if you take photos or buildings or animals then you already have a certain kind of follower that's following you. If you're niched down into different kinds of photography subject matters (instead of taking photos or random things) then it will be easier to sell your work because the people that are following you are following you for a certain reason. You also need to make sure that your bio is filled out properly and looks interesting. Make sure your bio has an interesting and eye catching description. These are just the basics of having a solid looking Instagram account so people will take you seriously. Okay, let's assume that you've had your account for a while and you want to try and sell your niche photography to your engaged followers on your Instagram account. 1. The old fashioned way You could sell your photography the 'old fashioned way'. Again, you could go online and find a decent print website where you could get your photography printed onto high quality paper or canvas and delivered to you. This method is old fashioned because it used to be the only way you could sell your art. You'd have to pay upfront and usually in bulk. For example, if you want to order prints of your photography, you have to order in batched of 25, 50 or 100 units. You can see how this could get expensive, especially if you don't think you'll be selling too many to begin with. The physical stock has to be stored somewhere so it doesn't get damaged in any way. It also means you'll have to find space to store it until you make any sales. Something else to consider is the fact that you'll have to ship all the orders yourself which means multiple trips to the post office a day if you start selling a lot of units. You'll also have to factor in the shipping costs for every item you send in the mail. Whilst this method is expensive upfront, the benefit is you get to see what your product looks like before you send it off to customers. This allows you to quality control every unit you sell. Personally I think that this method could be good if you don't sell many units on your photography on Instagram yet but it's certainly not the best way if you start to sell a lot. Intead, you'll want to eventually automate your orders without having to do any shipping yourself. All you want to worry about is taking photos and making sales! 2. Sell your photography on Instagram using POD servicesAnother method to sell your photography on Instagram is to get your orders automated so you can focus on taking photos instead of fulfilling orders every day. To do this, you can take advantage of print on demand or POD websites where you can upload your photography and add your photos to various different items. Instead of limiting yourself to only selling your photography in the form of prints, you can sell your photography on items like mugs, t shirts and much, much more. This is really handy because some people might not be able to afford prints of your work which will usually be priced a lot higher than mugs or t shirts. By only selling prints you're leaving out a lot of potential customers who might of otherwise wanted to buy your work if they could afford it. Selling your photography on not only prints but on merch can be a real game changer! Introducing Teechip.comI've written extensively about Teechip.com in the past on this site because it's something that I stumbled across years ago when I was trying to monetize my art Instagram account and I really enjoyed the experience. Teechip.com is a POD website that allows you to upload your photography, art and designs to lots of different merchandise for free. It's got a really simple user interface which makes it really easy to get started, even if you don't have much technical ability. The reason why Teechip is so good for helping you sell your photography is the fact that you can upload your work once and have it applied to over 25 different products! Let's look at a few examples of how you can do this. To show you how easy it is, I'm going to show you how to upload your photography to a canvas print and then we'll look at adding photography to a mug. I'm going to use a stock image to give you an idea of what your photography would look like on these merch items. Example one: uploading photography to a canvas printIt's worth noting that I'm using a 14x11 horizontal canvas in this example but there are other canvas sizes not to mention posters, bed sheets and much more you can add your photography to! Once you've created a seller account on Teechip.com, simply navigate to 'launch campaign' and you'll be able to upload a design before selecting which items you'd like to apply it to. Here I grabbed an awesome photo of a beach from Pixabay.com, submitted by David Musk. Once you have selected your items you can edit them. Here, you can stretch your design to fit the canvas or you can leave a bit of white around the edges like I have done here. Next, you can preview your work on this same page which is really handy because you'll be able to see what it looks like in your Teechip store. It's also worth noting that you can change the canvas colour. Example two: upload your design to a mugIn this next example I'll show you what the photo looks like on a mug. Again, you can change the colour of the mug and drag and drop it to fit the item before previewing it to make sure you like the way it looks. Note that on this page you can keep adding more products to preview what your work will look like on them (more than 25 different ones) you could see what your photography looks like on t shirts or socks for example! Once you have decided on the different products you'd like to sell your photography on, you can skip to the pricing page. On this page you can view the base cost of each product. For example, the 14x11 canvas has a base cost of $14 so you'll need to add your margin on top which is what you'll make in profit. For example, you could sell your canvas for $25 and make $11 per sale which isn't bad considering you don't need to worry about packing and shipping the canvas' yourself. In the mug example, the base price is $4 so if you sold your mugs for $10, you'll make $6 per sale. Again, not bad, especially if you start selling quite a few units. Create a store for all of your photographyOnce you've played around with adding your photography to different merch items, you can add a storefront. The great thing is, you can have multiple storefronts! This is really handy because the items you design will all be displayed for sale in your storefront. You can set your own URL to your storefront which can be then used as the link in your bio to sell your photography on Instagram; Sell your photography on Instagram with campaignsWhilst you can sell your items on your Teechip storefront, you can also create limited campaigns. This way, you can create scarcity and limit the amount of units you sell between set days. I've found this to be a really effective way of generating sales in Instagram. The idea is to post images of your products on Instagram with the price tag + how many days are remaining on the current campaign. To maximise sales, Teechip also allows you to generate coupon codes to allow your followers to buy your items at a discounted rate. For example, you could set your campaign to run between 1st Jan to 30th Jan and post several images of your product during this time period, stating how long is left on the current campaign before you make it unavailable again. Like your storefront link, you can put your campaign URL in your bio instead. This works great for one-off pieces that you want to make exclusive. 3. How to sell photography on Instagram with a mailing list and freebiesAnother way to sell your photography on Instagram is to get people to sign up to you email list. However, people aren't going to sign up for your email list for no reason. You're going to need to get the to opt in with a freebie.
This way, you can build trust with them and they'll get something for free. You can do this by signing up mailing list providers like Mailerlite.com that will let you have a free account up to 1000 email subscribers. Once you've got yourself an account you'll be able to start an automation sequence. This is easier than it sounds. What you'll want to do is allow people to sign up to your email list and then recieve your freebie in their emails once they've signed up. What freebie could you offer them though you might be thinking? Perhaps you could send people to a link where they could download and print one or a handful of your photos for free. Once they have signed up and claimed your freebie photos you can set an email to go out to them automatically at any time or date you want. This is useful because it means that you can follow up with them and offer them items for sale. They've already shown that they are interested in your photography so they'll likely be interested in buying something from you. This is what many large companies do when you use your email address with them. It's why you get so many random emails trying to sell you things. That's why you shouldn't bombard your email subscribers with a constant amount of emails, instead you should only send them relevant emails when it makes sense to. For example, if you add a new item to your store, you might consider sending an email out to your subscribers to let them know. Or, if you have another freebie that you just made, you might want to send them all a link. The more of a natural relationship you keep with them, the more likely they will become loyal buyers. Of course, it helps if your photography is awesome! Mailerlite makes it easy to create landing pages where people can sign up. Once they've signed up, everything is automated so you don't need to do anything else. Of course, you'll get a URL to your sign up page so you might want to put that in your bio and steer people towards it. You can do this buy posting images consistently of your freebies on your Instagram with text on the images telling people that your photos are available for free download in your bio. Have you personally had success selling your photography on Instagram? I'd love to hear in the comments!
If you're like many teens that have downloaded TikTok, you've probably set up your account and wondered just what the hell is going on inside the app. It's true that TikTok is not like anything we've seen before. In fact, I think TikTok makes Facebook look incredibly boring, old and kind of like that weird friend you want to get rid of but keep going back to...
If you're not one of the millions of teens that has downloaded TikTok to try and outsing their friends, you could be a business or an internet marketer looking to find out what niches do well on TikTok so you can go on to build a massive account and start making some money. f that's you then this post is for you. I've looked at the most popular niches on TikTok and have complied them here for your convenience. We'll then go on to talk about the most important things you'll want to do if you want to get TikTok famous and build a massive audience. How to pick a TikTok Niche
Before I reveal the most popular niches on TikTok (and those that do the best) it's important to understand how to pick a niche because if you want to take TikTok marketing seriously, you're going to have to commit to one niche to make sure that you get very targeted followers that might go on to buy from you in the future.
It's also important to choose a TikTok niche that you have an interest in or at least one that you can tolerate making content for each and every day. That's because the most successful accounts on TikTok prost videos every day (multiple times) even when they don't have an audience. You have to seem consistent to your followers otherwise they won't stick around for too long because there's so many other people they could be following that are being consistent! The most popular niches on TikTok (that do really well)
The following niches do really well on TikTok as of 2020. Niches that do well are very visual niches that are vibrant and popular amongst teenagers.
1. Dancing
It may come as no surprise that Dancing is the most popular niche on TikTok. Starting a dance niche account on the app is easy because TikTok lends itself to music and dancing. Some of the most popular accounts on TikTok are based on every day people dancing to famous tracks.
2. Comedy
Another very popular niche on TikTok is comedy. If you remember the now dead app Vine, many people got famous almost over night by making simple Vine comedy sketches. TikTok works in a similar way where you can make clips of yourself and stitch them together.
No longer do you need your own Netflix comedy special, you can become a TikTok comedian from the comfort of your living room! 3. Lip-syncing
This is TikTok's bread and butter one one of the reasons it is now so popular. Most people use TikTok to make videos of themselves lip-syncing to their favourite songs or scenes from movies. If you can make your lip-syncing funny and unique, you can garner millions of followers by posting your lip-syncing videos consistently.
Think it's crazy that lip-syncing is so watched? There's even a TV show now where people go on and just lip-sync! It's a crazy world. 4. Cooking / baking
This also shouldn't be a surprise. TikTok lends itself to users making short snappy videos. If you enjoy cooking, TikTok is perfect. No longer do you need to make a long drawn out YouTube video of yourself preparing or cooking a dish. You can simply make short video segments and snap them altogether with some cool music over the top. Then, you can link to the recipe in your profile!
5. Arts and crafts
Just like on YouTube, art, crafting and drawing does really well on TikTok. Like cooking videos, you can make montage or speed drawing videos of yourself drawing or making something and post it to your account. This really suits a lot of artists because you can give people a quick snapshot of your creation process, unlike posting your art to Instagram which is heavily image based.
What to do once you've decided on a niche
Once you've decided on a niche and you're happy that you can create content for it on a consistent basis, you're going to need to start to set up your account so you can start attracting the right kind of followers;
1. Decide on a handle - this is what your account is going to be called (@exampleaccount) you're going to want something that is unique to you but also reflects the niche of your TikTok account. It's important to make sure you don't rush this step because once you get going and people start to know you as one name you don't want to then change it and confuse all your followers! 2. Add an awesome profile picture - This should seem obvious but there's so many people that overlook this step and just put up whatever picture comes to mind. You want your profile picture to align with the subject of your account. If your account handle and your profile image align then you're going to look more professional and as if you know what you're doing! 3. Add your Insta handle to your profile - This is something else that gets overlooked by so many people. If you have an instagram handle (especially an account where you have followers) you need to add it into your bio in the space given. That way, you can cross promote your accounts over both social media's. 4. Add a website link - Okay, you get the idea. Basically you want to make sure you fill in your whole entire profile as much as you can. If you have your own website then you're going to want to link to it in your profile, especially if you have an online store where you sell merch for example. Once you're happy with your bio... Start posting videos, like yesterday
Some people say that quality should trump quantity. I say; "why can't you do both?" When it comes to TikTok, it's important to post a new video at least twice a day if you can. It's no different with Instagram to be honest. The more you post, the more exposure you'll get.
TikTok is face-paced and everyone is trying to get famous on TikTik right now with it being the new hot social media app. With that in mind, you'll have to keep up with the demand of new content that users want. Trends come and go on TikTok and if you're not in front of everyone's faces then you'll get left behind. The biggest TikTok accounts post new videos at least two or three times a day so you should aim for at least two (unless making more means your videos will suck) so you're better off sticking to one if you really can't think up new content ideas. It's also important to post at the right times. The best times of the day to post TikTok videos is early in the morning and in the mid evening, If you post your videos during the day, most people will either be at school or work and wont see them and therefore they will likely get buried in their feeds. Use hashtags or suffer
Like Instagram, you gotta use some hashtags to get discovered. People can browse the content linked with certain hashtags so if you don't use them you'll likely never be seen. When using hashtags on TikTok, it's best to use 3-5 hashtags per post. Any more and you'll be over doing it.
Some of the most popular hashtags on TikTok right now include; #love, #cute, #tiktok, #follow, #fun, #funny, #memes Luckily, many of the videos that you create on TikTok will relate to these top trending hashtags so you can usually use most of them for most of your posts. Jump on trends
Becoming TikTok famous usually involves you jumping on trends. These kinds of videos can go viral really quickly. For exmaple, let's say a new song comes out on Friday. If you're one of the first people to lip-sync to it in a video and you happen to make that video funny, there's a good chance you can go viral because you're one of the first people using the song.
Other trends you can jump on to grow your account are things like challenges. When new challenges sweep TikTok, people end up sharing videos that contain them because everyone ends up egging each other on. This is a good way of getting attention to you account quickly. It just means you'll have to spend more time keeping your ear to the ground and pay attention to the latest trends. Hijack other people's popularity
One way to get TikTok famous (or at least noticed more) is to hijack other people's popularity. If there are certain accounts that align with your niche then you can ride off the back of their fans.
What you'll want to do is comment on their videos in a constructive way or a controversial way to gain attention to your account. You'll want to make your comments interesting enough that people click through to your account. It's not good just commenting something like "wow great video!". Be creative and try and stand out in their comments. Another way to hijack others popularity is to use hashtags that mention their account, that way, anyone who searches for their account will come across your account too. Use your other social accounts
If you have other social accounts that already have followers then use them. Start posting on your other social accounts and tell your followers that you'll be posting more over on TikTok to try and get them to follow you over there.
Choosing a TikTok niche and gr0wing your account
When you've decided on a niche for your TikTok account you'll need to make sure that you post only content related to that niche! No one wants to see posts about dogs on a dancing TikTok account!
Keep it niched down to one subject and you'll attract all the right kinds of followers. Above all else, consistent posting about one subject is key to growing any social account. That way, your followers will always know what they're going to get and they'll look forward to your posts. If you want to learn how to sell merch on TikTok then you're in the right place. Luckily, selling merch on TikTok is rather like selling your own merch on YouTube. The benefit of selling merch on places like YouTube and TikTok is that you can advertise your merch in your videos so people will have a really good idea of what your merch looks like in person, therefore, making it more likely they will buy it. The easiest way to sell your merch on TikTok is to take advantage of the link space on your profile. You can add your Shopify store to your profile and tell people to go check out the link. You might think that it takes hundreds of thousands of followers to start selling merch on TikTok but you really don't need a huge audience to start making money. In fact, if you have a few but very passionate fans then you can start making money ok TikTok in a fairly quick time frame. It may not be millions but it could be enough to pay for your phone bill each month. How to start selling merch on TikTok even with a small audienceSo, you can for sure start selling merch to a small audience, as long as they are engaged and enjoy your very niche content. You'll know that they are engaged because most of them will interact with your content whenever you post it. 1. Create your merch and put it in your videosIf you have your own logo that you use for your channel or there's some design that is related to your account then starting to sell merch on TikTok is going to be easier for you then someone that doesn't have these things. The first thing that you want to do is create your own merch by using your logo or a design that is related to your brand / account. This could be anything, it could be a poster, a mug or a tshirt. The point is, you want people to start noticing your merch in your videos before you even start selling it to them. This is a tried and true way of selling merch online and it's something that many YouTubers have done over the years. By designing (or getting someone to design) your own designs on products you can start to build a desire for them everytime you post a new video. The more people notice your merch, the more they'll want it. Once enough people are interested, you can point them to your store link in your profile by adding stickers to your videos shouting out your links. 2. Decide how to sell you merchThe next thing you'll need to decide on is how you're going to sell your merch. This will depend on what merch items you want to sell to your audience. For example, if you're an artist, you may consider selling your art on Etsy and then linking your store to your TikTok profile. If you are a personality or gamer for example, you might want to sell your tshirts and mugs through fulfilment websites like Teechip. Alternatively, if you make your own merch then you can simply link to your own Shopify store or whatever storefront that you already use. Here's are some ways you can sell you merch on TikTok buy using these services and linking to them in your profile; Shopify If you make your own merchandise for your brand then a great option to use is Shopify. They won't make your march for you so they just act like a storefront where you can upload the cover images of your items and add your price descriptions. This option is great if you want a storefront without any branding but your own and you can get a 14 day free trial to see if Shopify is right for you. After that, a basic package costs $29 a month which is a steal for all of the features you get. There are however downsides to using Shopify. The first one is you'll have to pay to use their service and if you haven't made any sales yet then you'll be spending money without making any to begin with. The other downside is the fact that you'll have noone visiting your shop unless you send them there so you need to be good at marketing your shop to people. Whatever you decide, Shopify is a solid option if you don't mind paying for a storefront before you make any sales. TeechipThe second option you have is to get your high quality designs and upload them to websites like Teechip. Then, you can see how they look across multiple merch items. This is a great option if you don't want to pack and ship your own merch sales. Teechip.com isn't the first website like this, in fact there's a ton of websites where you can upload your own designs and sell your merch but the reason why I love Teechip.com is because the process between uploading a design and selling it is really easy. All you have to do is upload a design, select the items you want to sell it on which can be absolutely tons and then pick a time frame for how long you want to run a sales campaign. After the campaign period ends, you'll get sent all the cash from the sales. You can set your own prices so that you can decide on what margin you want to make. Each item on Teechip.com's website has a base cost so all you need to do is stick a few dollars on top and that will be the amount you make per sale. For example, if the manufacturing cost of a mug is £5 and you want to make $5 per sale, you'll need to sell your mug for £10. I recommend Teechip.com because it has so many options for you to sell your merchandise. It's a great option for selling merch on TikTok because you can link to your storefront on Teechip.com, or, you can link to one item. Selling your items on Teechip is easy because of the countdown feature they have. When you set up a campaign, you have to choose what dates you'd like to run it. For example, if you choose to sell an item for 30 days it will then become unavailable after those 30 days are up. This creates urgency and means more people are likely to buy your merch. You can also set an item as 'available forever' if you want it to be sold outside of a campaign period on your storefront. EtsyEtsy is a great option for those who make handmade items. It's especially great for anyone who sells merch in the form of art or posters or even jewellery. Etsy has been around for years and when you sign up you'll receive your own storefront where you can list your items for sale. The only catch is, to list an item you have to pay Etsy $0.20 every time. That can be annoying if you're starting out but if you're likely to sell your items quickly then it will be a small price to pay. You can also set your own prices so you can control how much money you make per sale. You might be wondering why you should sell your handmade merch on Etsy instead of Shopify where you have your own branding. The benefit you'll get with Etsy is that Etsy is a trusted website. It's been around forever and people know the name. As well as this, Etsy shops tend to rank well in the search results which means you'll likely have more people find your shop naturally then if you listed your items on your Shopify store. If you want to sell your own handmade merch on TikTok then Etsy will be the best bet for you. 3. Sell someone else's merch on TikTokIf you're not into designing or paying someone to design a logo for your account then why not sell other people merch for them on your account? This can be less stressful because you don't have to manage a bunch of inventory or need to create new products. You can go to a brand that fits your account and ask if they have any opportunities for you to wear their merch and get paid to do so. This is essentially what influencers do on social media but you could try and get yourself sponsored by one brand so that you have a steady and reliable income coming in each month, rather than having to run new campaigns with new companies every time you promote merch. You can do this by simply emailing some of your favourite brands that fit the theme/niche of your account and you can tell them how many followers you have. Some brands will want more info but a lot of them will be pleased to see someone with a large audience that fits their brand and will pay you per post. Some social media celebs are getting paid $1000 or more per sponsored post! If you want to get sponsored on a long term contract with a brand then you'll usually be required to show their products in your videos for a certain period of time whilst having a link that points back to their website on your account. Whichever method you decide, selling other peoples merch could be the easier option for you and could even pay you more in the long run. If your merch starts to sell well...If you decide to sell your own merch then you could have the added benefit of letting other people sell it for you. Much like getting paid to sell other peoples merch, you can offer that to people with large audiences too. If your merch is attractive and desirable (or you're very popular on TikTok) then you can approach other people on TikTok with similar accounts to you. If similar accounts align with your niche well then they'll probably have followers that would be interested in your account. The idea is to team up with people who you'd normally see as rivals so you can both enjoy the benefits that working together can bring. For example, if you have amazing merch then you can offer similar accounts the opportunity to sell your merch to their followers for a cut of the sale. You can do this by creating your own affiliate program and sending out invites to those who have large audiences. I won't get into setting up affiliate programs here but it's a very powerful way of getting your merch infront of more people. You'll earn less on those sales because you'll have to share the profit but with more exposure you'll likely make more money than you would selling your merch by yourself. Selling Merch On TikTok - ConclusionSelling merch on TikTok can be easy if you implement the right method that aligns with your type of merch and your type of followers.
If you have creative followers and you're an artist then selling prints on Etsy would be perfect. Selling t shirts to this audience wouldn't be. If you're a gamer then you might want to sell clothing with your logo on. It really depends on the kind of audience you have. Whatever you dom you, you want to make sure that your channel is unique and focuses on one niche so you can get super targeted followers attracted to your account. These are the people who are most likely to buy something from you further down the line. It's no good having thousands of followers if none of them watch any of your videos! Let me know in the comments if you've had any success sellig your merch on TikTok yet! In case you've been living under a rock for the last couple of years, there's something called TikTok taking the world by storm right now. You know, the annoying adverts you see on Facebook and YouTube of people dancing around and lip-syncing to any song under the sun? That's TikTok. Well, it just so happens that some of those annoying people are making money with TikTok right now and are cashing in big time. I know, crazy right? In case you didn't know, TikTok used to be called Musical.ly and was invented by some really clever chinese people in Shanghai back in 2014. It was loosely modeled after an existing chinese social media app. However, it turned out that no one liked it when it was called Musical.ly and so in 2016 it rebranded itself as TikTok. Make sense? Okay good! What Is TikTok Exactly? As I mentioned above, TikTok is a new social media platform that allows users to upload videos of themselves singing and dancing to built in songs that live within the app (imagine all the latest pop songs being available on a karaoke machine in your pocket). As you can imagine, it's very popular with teenagers. So popular in fact that more and more teens are ditching the boring old 'grandad social media' Facebook and flocking to TikTok in their droves. Whether TikTok has any legs to go the distance is yet to be seen but the fact they have now amassed 800 million users worldwide makes me think that they are here to stay. As well as fun-seeking teenagers, brands have also started to pay attention to the reach that TikTok has acros the big wide world. TikTok is the perfect place for advertisers to spend their cash because it's where all the young and cool kids hang out. The nature of TikTok makes a great place to make money if you have a lot of followers because you can advertise brands within your videos. How To Make Money With TikTokTo be honest, making money with TikTok is a lot like making money with Instagram. The main difference is the focus on video when using the TikTok app. There are several different ways that you can make money with Tik Tok and if you're already making money with some of your other social media accounts you can mirror those over on TikTok. Most of the ways of making money on here are influenced by how many people follow you. To make decent money on TikTok you need to grow your account. This should be the aim before you consider making serious money with the platform. The more followers you have, the more opportunities you'll get and the more offers will come into your inbox. You should first focus on growing your account by consistently posting content every day, and if you can, post multiple times a day. Make sure you use relevant hashtags when you post too. You'll also want to make sure you post videos with you singing along to the most trending songs each week to maximise your exposure as that is what people will be searching for. If you post a video around a new song then you'll have a better chance of going viral if you make a video soon after a new song comes out. If you can make your video funny in any way, even better! People love to share funny content no matter what platform it is on. Another benefit of sharing funny content is its ability to end up on comedy websites. Although this will often be done without your permission and you won't get paid for it, it will give you more exposure to your account. The main aim of growing your TikTok account is to try and be consistent and to stand out in a unique way. Assuming you have at least a modest TikTok follower count, here are some of the most popular ways to make money on TikTok right now; 1. Sell your own productIt may seem obvious but it's still overlooked. When using TikTok you can place a link to your own website on your profile. If you have a Shopify store you can link directly to it and tell people to go check it out in your videos. Better still, if you have one of your products in your videos like merchandise then people will naturally want to find out more if the t-shirts you're selling are desirable. An interesting method is to design your own merch and upload it to websites like Teechip that will place it on a load of different items, ready for your audience to purchase without you having to do anything. If you are into affiliate marketing, consider linking to a product that relates to your TikTok profile. Linking to your own product works wonders for creators like artists especially. If you have an online store you can sell your art directly to your followers through your profile link. This works well for artists on TikTok because you can create videos of yourself making your art and then linking directly to a page where people can buy it. You can also use the link in your profile to link to other social media websites where you already make money, to try and grow your revenue over there. For example, if you have a YouTube channel, you could make some longer TikTok videos and only post them on YouTube. That way, you can earn advertising revenue on your YouTube channel as well as rowing your channel. 2. Sell your accountThis is something that people first started doing heavily on Facebook back in the day. The idea is to build up an account on TikTok around a certain niche (let's say dogs for example) then once you have gained enough followers you can then go on to sell your account to a desperate buyer. These days, any social media account that has targeted followers that are passionate about a certain niche can sell for thousands of dollars. You don't have to make an account on TikTok and spend all day singing into your camera! You could get your pets involved, for example. If you can narrow down on a targeted niche that isn't all about you then you could build accounts up and sell them off as they get bigger. This isn't always easy as it can take time to build an account up but the rewards are huge if you can put in the time and effort to do it. 3. Make Money With TikTok Through DonationsAnother way to make money with TikTok is to accept donations. TikTok isn't just a platform where you upload an annoying video of yourself singing. You can also live stream yourself just like you would on YouTube or Twitch. And, just like YouTube and Twitch, you can accept donations, live! This really is a chinese import that the chinese owners of the app use on other chinese apps in china. Many chinese apps focus on monetization through donations.Basically, if you like the content creator then then you can send them real money as they talk to you live. This is a real cash cow for those with big and passionate audiences. You'll be surprised. I've heard stories of the chinese equivalent apps and some of those content creators are making serious bank every single day by daily live streaming and just talking about things their audiences care about. It sounds crazy but there are people out there that are ready to throw their hard earned cash at you! I love this way of making money with TikTok because you can use it from day one. If you have followers on a different social media platform then you can ask them to follow you on TikTok and start making money with TikTok right away. Here's how the system works; When a user signs up for TikTok they have the option of buying 'coins'. These cost roughly $2 for 100 coins. During a live stream of their favourite creator, a user can send a donation for as many coins as they like. These coins get converted into diamonds which then get converted into paypal for the creator to cash in. This model works wonders in china. There's many different emotes on the chinese social media platforms that equate to different amounts of money so there's no guessing how many more options there will be for creators to make money with donations on TikTok in the future! 4. Get SponsoredDo you know how do many of the Youtubers out there survive these days? Well, it ain't ads...it's by being sponsored! Getting a company to sponsor you means that you'll be able to make money on TikTok in a steady and reliable way for a long time, as long as you keep a good relationship between you and your sponsor. TikTok is no different to YouTube in the sense that it's really a case of people's eyeballs looking at your videos. Regardless of the platform, advertisers want to put their products in front of those eyeballs! Think about even one of the biggest YouTubers, Joe Rogan and his sponsorship deal with Onnit. That's gotta be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars! It all comes down to niching down on a certain subject. If you have a passionate following then it's going to be easier to sell something to them or get a sponsorship deal because you have a ready made audience for a company out there. A good way to go about this is to make a list of all the companies that you can think of that relate to your TikTok account. Then, go through each one and email them asking if they would consider sponsoring your TikTok account. Don't just say please, instead, tell them exactly how sponsoring you will benefit them. After all, they'll be paying you each month to show off their service or product. Let them know how many followers you have, and, if you know, tell them how many of your followers are male or female and the age range of your followers. All of these things will make it easier to get sponsored if a company thinks that your TikTok account looks like an audience that will buy their service. 5. Become An InfluencerWhy not become an influencer? Okay, it's not likely that everyone will become an influencer on TikTok but it definitely IS possible. If your passionate about a certain subject then you'll find that your account grows naturally by all the right kinds of people coming across it. The more it grows over time, the more chance you'll have of becoming an influencer. What is an influencer you say? In case you don't know, an influencer is someone on a social media platform that influences people's buying decisions. So, instead of being sponsored by one company to promote only one product, you could take on multiple campaigns from different companies for one-off fees. You can often get paid thousands of dollars depending on how many followers you have and how engaged they are. Being an influencer is harder than it sounds though. You have to make sure you post consistently, even if you don't like it. If you are running a campaign or posting a video of you with a product then you'll need to make sure it's good enough and you make it the best video you possibly can. This is probably one of the slowest ways to make money on TikTok because it can take a long time to build a large following on the platform. It's a great long term way of making money on TikTok though so you can do all of the above methods whilst you grow your audience over time. Making Money With TikTok - ConclusionAs mentioned, the key to making money on TikTok is to build your account with consistent posts, everyday about a niche subject. That way, you can get highly targeted people following you that will be interested in your product or service (or someone else's through affiliate marketing.) Once your account reaches thousands of followers you'll have many opportunities coming your way.
Making money on TikTok is also a case of being creative and looking at what other people are doing to make some cash. I think that this emerging social platform is going to be a great source of income, if you can hone your audience. Have you been making an income on TikTok? Let me know in the comments! Why Is 10,000 YouTube Views Important? As someone who is a veteran YouTube creator, 10,000 YouTube views does not seem like a big deal to me. However if you're starting a new channel this can seem a bit daunting and you're probably wondering how the heck do I get views to a new channel? Getting 10,000 views is significant because it's now the threshold you have to reach in order to turn on monetisation to you channel. This was recently brought in to tackle users benefiting from ad revenue when they upload hateful content. This all kicked off then The Wall Street Journal accused PewDiePie of being racist whilst he ran innocent ad content on his videos. Yes this is frustrating but I can understand why YouTube doesn't want someone being able to actually do this deliberately. So, the 10,000 views threshold was brought in as a deterant to stop people doing this. This is annoying for those who are genuinly uploading peaceful and noon-hateful content and trying to start a new YouTube channel because they enjoy doing so. So how do you get to 10,000 YouTube views and start making ad revenue? Here's what I'd do... 1. Take Advantage Of Popular Trends If there's one thing that can get you a lot of views on a new YouTube channel is making videos around current trends. Channels that focus around 'top trends' get a lot of views because obviously, people are interested in certain things at certain times which are being searched for in high volumes. You don't have to focus your channel on 'trends' but you can include something that is trending in your videos as long as it makes sense. For example, let's look at fidget spinners. Fidget spinners have exploded in popularity in the last month (may-june 2017) Although they are winding down, they have proven that adding the current trend into your videos can have a huge impact. Everyone and their dog has tried to incorporate these spinners somehow, whether it be someone drawing one, doing a trick with one or crushing one with a hydrollic press. Even though your channel is new and your video is new, if you place it with the right title and tags you can expect to get some overnight views, especially if you jump on these trends right away. For example, a video called 'ten top fidget spinner tricks' is going to be suggested to users by YouTube because it's highly relevant right now even though it's from a new channel. I have found using this 'trends' method extremely effective. I have based videos around popular film characters before anyone else has, and as a result been given huge amounts of views quickly. I even did this when my channel was brand new. 2. Get Your Video Shared Professionally This next step to getting your first 10,000 videos views is very effective when done properly. This method whilst not always free, can get you to your target quickly. This method involves finding Influencers in your field that will share your video with their audiences. This works best when you target people who have large followers who relate to your niche. These are the steps; 1. Find an Influencer, you can do this by searching for a YouTuber, Facebook page, Instagrammer. (always look for people in your niche) 2. Send them a professional email explaining you'd like them to share your video for something in return, usually a one off payment which you can make through Paypal. 3. Repeat Whilst this is a good way to get your video in-front of people quickly, it will cost you money usually. Not a lot, usually between $10-$50. But bare in mind, you could reach your 10,000 views with one share of your video. You should contact a few different people at the same time to make sure you maximise people getting back to you. Some may not respond, and that's okay, but when you approach them front a business stand point most will open up your email. Once you've found an Influencer, you can then build a relationship with them and continue to make deals over time leading to more and more views. 3. Build Up Your Other Social Accounts You can get 10,000 YouTube views easily if you have established social accounts on other platforms like Facebook. Facebook works great for sharing video and some pages get millions of views organically by people sharing them easily. more and more people are focusing on sharing video on Facebook because it gets shared so quickly. If you don't have a Facebook page, starting one is very easy. The best way to build up a Facebook page quickly and get 'likes' is to pay for them. I know people don't like to pay for things, especially when they're starting out, but, if you want to build a YouTube channel long term, you gotta start investing in it. If you run ads on your Facebook page you can only pay when someone likes your page. You don't need a ton of likes to get the ball rolling either. You can start by buying $10 worth of ads which might get you 50 page likes. If you have 50 'fans', they can start sharing your content if it's good enough. With a bit of savvy and some luck, your YouTube video can go viral on Facebook. If you combine point 1 where you create a video on a current popular subject and this one, you could find that your video get's shared quickly because it's highly relevant. Once you have a couple hundred Facebook page likes, you can ease off on spending money on getting 'fans' and start to focus more on content that people want to share. A great example of shareable content is food. The Facebook page 'Tasty' gets 100000's of views on every video because they make short food recipe videos that people love due to them looking 'tasty'. You can see from the screenshot above that this Facebook page has some serious 'likes'. It's important to remember that even they started somewhere and I'm 99% positive they would have bought some ads to stat off with.
Also remember that nothing is overnight, you have to start at the bottom and be creative to get millions of views let alone 10,000 YouTube views. If you keep creating relevant content to your niche that's trending and quality, shared and fun to watch, you'll have your 10,000 views faster than you thought AND you'll be able to start making money with ads too. How To Promote Amazon Affiliate Links On YouTube That Convert Like Crazy(Please note, I am a 'YouTuber' with a sizeable audience. The tactics I explain on my website are ones I have personally used myself to generate extra side income.) First Off...What Is The Amazon Affiliate Program? For any of you that don't already know, Amazon allows you the ability to promote products in the form of links to other people, if they then purchase a product(s) you get a commission for your efforts. This is basic explanation of what affiliate marketing is. Some forms of affiliate marketing can be challenging, especially when you're new to internet marketing. Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world, so of course, they have the largest affiliate program. What I want to talk about in this post is how to promote Amazon affiliate links on YouTube, mainly because I believe this is an easy way of receiving commissions from Amazon sales on a daily basis. So, how do you sign up to become an Amazon Affiliate? Simply head over to the website by typing ' Amazon Affiliate program' into Google. The sign up process is simple enough so I won't go into too many details here. I'm going to assume you've already signed up, if you haven't go sign up now and then come back and read the rest of this post. Amazon converts visitors really easily. There's a reason they're number one! Driving visitors to Amazon can be challenging at first but once the customer is there, it's easy to make a commission. The great thing about Amazon is their upsells. People generally shop on Amazon and end up buying more than one item. For every item sold, you get a commission, so you don't only get paid for the product you're linking to. The Amazon affiliate program uses cookies for 24 hours which means even if the customer leaves, if they come back within 24 hours, you make a commission if they then go onto buy something. What Type Of Links Can You Promote?Amazon allows you to promote text links, images or both. For the method we're using, we will be using text links. How Easy Is It To Promote Amazon Affiliate Links And Make Sales? So by now, you're probably looking at your empty dashboard on Amazon with a big fat zero in the 'sales' tab. Knowing how to promote your Amazon links can be hard. You more than likely have a website already and are looking for ways to monetise it. One key way to promote Amazon Links is to place them in your content body so they look more naturally placed. I've used this method on several of my sites in the past with moderate success but it was only when I implemented Amazon Affiliate links on my YouTube channel that I saw a jump in click-throughs. I don't know why exactly the click-throughs on YouTube are higher but it might have something to do with the links text popping out against the rest of the description sections. Either way, it's extremely easy to promote Amazon Affiliate links on YouTube. How To Promote Amazon Affiliate Links With YouTube Videos Of course, we're going to be placing our text links in the descriptions of our videos. How do you get people to buy through your Amazon Links? The easiest way to do this is simply by using or reviewing the item in the content of your video. Simple huh? This works extremely well for review style channels that feature different products in each of their videos. Here's an example of a channel description promoting Amazon affiliate links; This screen shot from the channel 'Unboxing Therapy' shows the channel owner linking to the USA Amazon Affiliate store and also the international one using a service called Genius Links which allows the correct countries Amazon store to be displayed to visitor. Unboxing Therapy is a good example of a channel that is promoting Amazon affiliate links because the owner is showing off interesting gadgets he's bought from Amazon. It's unclear whether he started his channel to do exactly this and make money or if his channel took off and he decided to make some extra income with it. Either way, with the type of engagement this channel receives and the millions of views, it's realistic to say this channel is killing it with Amazon's Affiliate program. He is also allowing for people to find his links easily by placing them at the tops of the descriptions of his videos. One key reason why this channel is successful in promoting Amazon affiliate links is that it has a passionate audience. Whether they like the owner or not, they are a group of people who like what he likes and enjoy discovering cool new tech that they can afford. This channel kinda takes the work out of finding these things for you and makes for an interesting watch. Build Your Audience Around A Niche To Cash In With Amazon Affiliates Much like promoting Amazon affiliate links on your website, you also need to build an audience around a certain niche. This should be a natural process that develops over time. Many argue that Amazon's commission rates are low, and on the face of it, they are right. You can earn anywhere from 5% to 15% of a sale on Amazon but there are two keys that you need to focus on. The first is volume. When you have an active YouTube channel where you use products that can be bought on Amazon, you start to naturally get more exposure as you pump out more and more videos. You audience starts to trust you and thinks of you as an authority which can help when it comes to selling something down the road...after all, no ones likely to buy something that some random guy with no views of comments is promoting. When you have a collection of videos on your YouTube channel, you have a collection of opportunities for people to buy through your affiliate links. Over time, you get more and more clicks leading to more and more commissions. The second key element to making a good income with Amazon affiliates is to promote high ticket items. The higher the price, the more commission you're going to make. I'd say try to promote items from $20 up. This way, you'll be guaranteed to make at least $5 a sale. Bare in mind that some Amazon products actually come with a higher commission rate too. I rarely drop below 7.5% for any item I sell through Amazon these days. So when you start to build your channel around a certain idea, concept, industry you end up naturally using certain products in your videos that help you create content. Your niche viewers are likely going to want what you are using too. This makes directing people to Amazon so easy. They like what you use - they want it - they see an Amazon link. It's an easy sale because people trust Amazon. They have shopped there a ton of times before. It's not like your sending them to some spammy weight loss website with an over priced new fad product. More over, the fact they have seen the product in action tips many people over the edge into buying, much more so than just reading a description on the Amazon website. People Who Promote Amazon Affiliate Links On YouTubeTo really get your head around the idea of building an audience through niche product reviews, here is another good example; This example of someone quite blatantly trying to promote Amazon affiliate links on YouTube is a great way to show you how easy it is. Again, this is a channel that shows off gadgets, however you can promote anything on Amazon, so if beauty is your thing, why not promote make up? If toys are your thing, why not promote the latest toy fad? This channel 'Pro Hacker' is literally just making videos about cool gadgets you can buy cheaply on Amazon and then re-directing people to buy them through his links. It's funny when you think how straight forward it is. Of course, he has a slightly larger channel than most, so you might be thinking, 'well it's easy for him' BUT you need to remember, everyone starts somewhere. If you want to learn how to grow your YouTube channel from zero to thousands of subscribers, click here. I also really enjoy this channels example because the channel owner is again honing in on a concentrated niche. There are thousands of people interested in gadgets and tech and this channel is basically telling people, 'here you go, these are cheap and cool AND you can even find them on Amazon!' As we all know, if a product exists, it's almost always going to be displayed ready for purchase on Amazon. One Key Thing To Bare In Mind When Promoting Amazon Affiliate Links When I first started, I made this mistake. Amazon affiliate links are not naturally globalised. This means if you sign up for Amazon affiliates UK and someone from Brazil clicks your link, they will end up on the UK's website. A lot of times, they will just then search Google to find the Brazilian Amazon to find the product, therefore closing your link down before they buy. I can say from experience, people are to lazy to click the tab at the top of the page to switch to their native Amazon website. That's why it's key to understand who you're targeting. If your product is big in the US, sign up for Amazon affiliates US. There are services like Genius links that can cut out this headache however. Genius links allows you to 'globalise' your link meaning regardless of what Amazon your link is from, the visitor will end up on their native Amazon site. How To Get Your Amazon Affiliate Links To Convert Like Crazy On YouTubePromote Amazon Affiliate Links The Smart Way I built up my YouTube channel before I started promoting Amazon links on my channel. In retrospect, I probably would of made twice as much one by now, but hey, we all learn. So, there are two ways you can start promoting. The first is build your channel without promoting Amazon affiliate links to keep your channel looking more natural. Once you have an audience, start adding links to relevant products. The second way is the way a lot of newbies do it. Make a video and stuff the links on. I have a big problem with the second method. From what I've seen, people don't like to click links from people that don't seem credible. So if you have one subscriber (your mom) and a handful of views, it's unlikely that you're seen as trust worthy. When you first establish a presence and audience on YouTube, people will gladly buy through your links, especially when they know it helps you. I think if you're coming from a place of goodness and your viewers can see you're not just in it for the money, you'll go a lot further in the long run. That's also why I think the hard sell or 'hard promote' just doesn't work (unless your niche is so passionate about their products they have their wallets open all day) I think building trust and authority and coming across sincere goes a long way. This alos helps you sell more indirectly. You see, as you become more credible in your area, you don't even have to say 'click the link below'. People just natural want to have a look themselves, or, you've made such a high quality video they want to purchase what you have right there and then. Is The Amazon Affiliate Program Worth It? This is a question that gets asked all the time in online money forums. The reason is, Amazon gives you low commission rates compared to other affiliate programs. I'd like to give you my take on whether the Amazon affiliate program is worth is or not.
I think that the program is good for several reasons. The first is that it's low barrier. Many affiliate programs require you to have a certain amount of visitors or views before you can be accepted into their programs. Amazon requires you to state what your website is when you sign up. You can add your channel URL to this. I have signed up for Amazon affiliates UK, US, CA and have been accepted right away with no issue. The second reason why I think the Amazon affiliate program is worth it is because you can make such easy sales. It's literally a case of getting people through you link and letting Amazon do the rest. Amazon is a converting KING. Amazon's landing/product pages are sooo highly converting that people rarely leave only purchasing one item. The third reason I think it's worth it is because you make a sale on EVERYTHING that person buys once they on the website. So if you displayed a link that goes to a toolbox product page and then customer buys it and then buys a tshirt too, you receive commission for both! You can understand how the earnings can start to stack up regardless of the 'low' commission rates. It has to be said that although you start at 5%, the more you sell, you can reach up to 15%. The last reason I think that the Amazon affiliate program is worth doing is because you can link to almost any kind of product. It does not matter what you niche is, there's always going to be a product for it. If you join an affiliate site like Peerfly for example, you're going to be limited in what you can promote whereas Amazon is going to have something regardless of how obscure it is. |
